Whether your child is starting 1st grade, 8th grade or even 11th grade, every student could use a little structure in their life. Here are some tips to help have a successful school year.
1. Make Ground Rules
Make a list of ground rules for the school year. No TV until all homework is finished, no phones while studying. If you set them ahead of time, your kids will know the expectations.
2. Establish a Morning Routine
Making a morning routine is beneficial for both parents and kids. Figure out how much time you need to get dressed, eat breakfast, and accomplish any morning chores.
3. Set Goals
Sit down with your child before the school year starts and ask them what they would like to achieve. Making a list of goals can help keep your child focused throughout the year.
4. Ease Back into Sleeping Schedule
Ease back into the school routine by practicing going to bed early and waking up early. Try doing this one to two weeks before school starts.
Switching from summer to school mode can sometimes be challenging, but hopefully these tips can help make it easier!
